Who is eligible and how can I apply?

That is a difficult question to answer. We welcome applications from all
corners of the performing arts world. This includes emerging theatre artists
such as actors, directors, choreographers, dancers, creative producers and
playwrights.

Likewise, you may be more experienced professional at an interesting point
of transition in your career or looking for a creative shot in the arm. We hope
the group of 18 people will be a good mix of people with different talents,
background and experience. The programme is 100% full time and requires
a significant commitment. You must agree to be present (both mentally and
physically) for the entire course. You must be prepared to try different things
outside your comfort zone and area of specialty. Please note due to the
nature of this year’s Festival, physical workshops may make up a considerable
part of the programme.

How do you Apply?

Complete the application form.

Send the form, along with a standard CV, by email or post to The Next Stage c/o TheatreForum, 67 Middle Abbey Street, Dublin 1 or email theatreforum@ireland.com. The closing date for applications is Friday 21 August.

Successful candidates will be notified the week of 31 August - 4 September.
Full payment for the programme must be received by Monday 14 September.
If you are planning to apply for the programme, we would ask you not to
buy tickets for the Festival in advance of notification of your place on The
Next Stage. If you are successful then the tickets will be included as part of
The Next Stage programme. It will not be possible to refund you for tickets
already purchased, or to swap tickets around for different evenings. The
programme has been carefully organised in such a way that you will see
shows on a particular evening in order to catch the post show discussion or
to ensure you have seen the work in advance of meeting the makers.

The Next Stage is based in the FBC on Lower Abbey Street (opposite the stage door of the Abbey).

We will have exclusive use of the building which includes a main space for workshops, breakout spaces and kitchen facilities.
