Details of the theatre project awards are emerging after people received letters of offer this week. We're compiling details in order to provide an overview of independent theatre projects that will be funded in 2011.
Below are details we received directly from the individuals concerned in the last 48 hours. It is not an exhaustive list. If you have received funding please let us know.
Development - Playwright Rosaleen McDonogh, €9,600 towards Protégé an adaptation of Colum McCann's novel Zoli.
- Actor and director Karl Shiels and writer Paul Walker €9,100 for Stoker based on the life of Bram Stoker and his relationship with the actor Henry Irving.
- Director Jimmy Fay, €14,000 for a theatrical adaptation of the 1920's silent film Greed by Erich von Stroheim.
- Jose Miguel Jimenez and The Company, €22,500 for Politik.
- Director Annabelle Comyn €22,300 for the Maeve Brennan project written by Emma Donoghue.
- Donal Kelly and Benbo Productions, €22,200 for the development of Jimmy Gralton - Spirit of Freedance
Production - Playwright Mark O'Halloran, €27,400 for Trade
- Branar Drámaíochta €39,200 for An Chroí agus an Buidéal, a theatre piece for young audiences.
- Barabbas, €44,300 for City of Clowns touring festivals and venues this summer.
- Producer Anne Clarke, Landmark Productions, €50,200 for Enda Walsh's play Misterman starring Cillian Murphy as part of Galway Arts Festival.
- Director, Louise Lowe, ANU Productions €66,700, for Laundry.
- Feidlim Cannon and Gary Duggan of Brokentalkers €73,100 for The Blue Boy.
- THIS ISPOPBABY, €86,000 for Alice in Funderland
- Director Selina Cartmell, Siren Productions, €88,300 for a production of the Jacobean drama 'Tis Pity She's a Whore.
Dance awards - Alan Foley, Cork City Ballet got €45,000 from for Giselle.
Other - WillFredd Theatre (made up of Sarah Jane Shiels, Sophie Motley and Hannah Mullan) received an Arts Participation Project Award of €32,678 for Follow which will be part of the ABSOLUT Fringe this year.
