The Lime Tree Theatre, Limerick at Mary Immaculate College is a new state of the art multi-purpose 500-seat theatre located in the centre of Limerick City which is due to open in May 2012.

Applications are now being sought for the position of Theatre Manager who will work closely with the Board of the Theatre, to devise and implement strategic, artistic, financial and developmental objectives for this new state- of- the art theatre space. The appointment will be on a fulltime, temporary contract basis.

The Theatre Manager will be a dynamic, creative and highly motivated individual with a detailed working knowledge of Irish theatre, performing arts and funding bodies. He/she will be responsible for the artistic identity of the theatre, programming, forging new artistic activities, and for producing partnerships and collaborations.

Reporting to the Board, the Theatre Manager will have at least three years relevant senior management experience either in a commercial organisation or an arts organisation, preferably venue based. He/she must be capable of directing the artistic policies and programmes of the Theatre while managing the resources and development of the Theatre.

He/she must have:

  • Excellent understanding of contemporary performing arts
  • Excellent financial expertise
  • A proven business development skills
  • Excellent management and HR skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills

The appointee should:

  • Be highly motivated, flexible and discreet
  • Be capable of working on his/her own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Be capable of working to established deadlines
  • Have excellent IT skills and a high proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
