Wexford Festival Opera relies on the commitment, passion and enthusiasm of its funders and donors, and has recognised the need to maximise development income received from them, particularly in light of the volatility in securing income from traditional sources of public funding, box office and commercial income.

To achieve improved donor income generation, the Festival wishes to expand its development capacity via the recruitment of a Development Intern. The Development Intern will support the work of Wexford Festival Opera for a nine month period through the JobBridge scheme and under the guidance of a 2into3 director as part of 2into3’s Not-for-profit internship programme.

Purpose of the Role

The Development Intern will, under the supervision of the Chief Executive, enhance the efforts and performance of the Festival’s existing development & fund-raising activities. The intern will, among other things, manage the supporter database, act as the key liaison/contact person for all current and prospective supporters, support the Development Department’s strategies and action plans, undertake background research, and assist with the development of the new and existing fundraising programmes.
