access CINEMA is a resource organisation for regional cultural cinema exhibition funded by the Arts Council. We work with a network of film societies, arts centres and arts festivals to develop art house cinema locally. access CINEMA currently has 47 member groups screening on either 35mm or DVD non-theatrically.
access CINEMA’s role is to support local programmers with advice and expertise as well as providing our core service, the booking and dispatch of films. access CINEMA has experienced strong growth in membership and audience numbers in recent years. We expect further growth and development in our activities over the next period.
Our success has relied on developing and maintaining partnerships with a variety of local organisations, so as to facilitate and increase access to non-mainstream film exhibition. Maintaining and developing relationships with other agencies / organisations involved in cultural cinema provision remains critical to our ongoing development. These agencies include : The Arts Council ; Irish Film Institute ; Irish Film Board ; Filmakers ; Arts Officers ; Schools and Education Centres.
We are continuing to seek new opportunities to expand the provision of cultural cinema regionally.
We are now recruiting for the position of: Programme Manager (members services)
This is a key position in the organisation and the person appointed will play a significant role in what we do.
Reporting to the Director, your role will include :

Responding to programming needs of member groups;

Offering programming advice/expertise;

Co-ordinating film bookings and despatch;

Generating and dispersing publicity/ promotional material

Originating new film programming;

Contributing to ongoing training initiatives for client groups.
The Programme Manager will be cognisant of the changing face of film distribution and exhibition in Ireland, keeping themselves updated on new developments in the sector.
Previous experience in the film or cultural sector is desirable.
A passion for film is a must.
A salary of circa €30,000 per annum will apply.
A 3-year contact will be offered beginning with a 3-month probationary period.
The successful candidate will need to possess excellent inter-personal skills, be clear and concise in their dealings with member / client groups, be an efficient and effective administrator and enjoy working in a small but busy team.
