This new flagship development located in Carlow town, is a key element for the development of the arts locally, nationally and internationally.The centre’s distinctive feature is its scale, ambition and potential to be one of Ireland’s most important and innovative contemporary visual arts centres.

Carlow Arts Centre Ltd. is seeking the following:

Director

An experienced Director with excellent leadership skills, artistic vision, imagination and drive, to lead and manage VISUAL Centre for Contemporary Art & the George Bernard Shaw Theatre. The position of Director is critical to the success of this facility and how the centre, in its initial period of operation, will root itself in the community whilst developing and maintaining a strong national and international reputation. The person appointed to this position must have extensive relevant experience and demonstrate a clear understanding of the unique challenges associated with the programming and operation of a centre of this scale. Realising the vision and objectives of the development will require a leader, who is an excellent communicator and a strategic thinker with experience of policy formation, financial and people management, planning and implementation. A knowledge of contemporary arts practice nationally and internationally is required.

Salary -approx €75k - €85k per annum commensurate with experience

 

Technical Manager

A Technical Manager with a minimum of two years relevant experience, who will be responsible for the Technical Management of the Theatre (353 seater) & Visual Arts galleries. The successful candidate will have a relevant professional qualification and be a key member of a committed team.

 

Salary -approx €40k per annum commensurate with experience
