WEXFORD FESTIVAL OPERA CHIEF EXECUTIVE

Since its inaugural event in 1951 the Wexford Festival Opera has established itself as one of the world’s leading and most progressive opera festivals. It has a considerable international reputation for providing a platform for highly regarded productions of lesser known operas. Central to the Festival’s appeal is the unique ‘Wexford Experience’ that it creates for its audience.

A new Government & Private sector funded theatre for the Festival is currently under construction and is scheduled to be operational in time for the hosting of Festival 2008 in October. This represents a significant step change for the organisation and a watershed in the development of opera in Ireland.

Following the successful completion of an interim assignment by the current incumbent, a Chief Executive is now being sough to lead Wexford Festival Opera through its next exciting phase. Based in Wexford and reporting to the Chairman of the Board, the CEO will be responsible for the business operations of Wexford Festival Opera.

The successful candidate will be an experienced executive with a strategic, commercial, and operational leadership track record in either the performing arts/cultural or commercial sectors.

Remuneration and conditions will be attractive and commensurate with seniority of the position.
