Assistant Box Office Manager-The Helix

The Helix is a multi-venue arts centre serving the people and audiences of North Dublin and beyond. Comprising three different auditoria, The Mahony Hall, The Theatre and The Space, alongside a Gallery, The Helix attracts a diverse mixture of high quality music, drama and entertainment from within Ireland and around the world.

We are currently recruiting for the role of “Assistant Box Office Manager”. The successful candidate will work with the Box Office Manager in supervising, training and leading a team of Box Office sales agents. The position requires someone with a positive and flexible attitude, a strong focus on sales and a commitment to excellent Customer Service and the ability to lead a team. You must have previous supervisory or team leading experience. You will be self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure on your own initiative. Whilst it is essential you are self motivated you must also have the ability to motivate others and lead a team to achieve results.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To lead a team of Box Office agents to achieve weekly, monthly and annual targets

  • Responsible for supervising, training, monitoring and rostering of full and part-time agents

  • Reporting daily on agent performance, daily ticket sales and calls answered

  • Feeding back performance issues to Box Office agents on a weekly basis

  • Conducting weekly meetings with Box Office agents in relation to sales targets and event information

  • Reconciling daily takings with sales reports and resolving any discrepancies

  • Creating and uploading events for sale on the database

  • To manage and resolve Customer queries and complaints in a timely manner

  • Managing the database including regular housekeeping and cleansing of data

  • To work with the Marketing department on campaign analysis including reporting, monitoring and identifying trends and any other duties which may arise

  • To compile weekly sales reports for the Box Office manager

  • Acting as Duty Box Office manager when so rostered

  • Any other duties that may arise as directed by the Box Office Manager

  • The Box Office Assistant Manager will be required to work a minimum of 3 evenings and 1 weekend per month according to the needs of the events programme.

THE PERSON
The person appointed will be a reliable, mature, responsible individual with the following skills
Essential:

  • One year or more experience in team management

  • Two years or more experience in a Customer focused sales environment eg Call Centre or Support Centre

  • Ability to direct and motivate others

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and be details oriented

  • Strong organizational, communication and problem solving skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment which focuses on individual and team goals

  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word

  • A demonstrable track record in achieving sales targets and leading a team

  • Desirable:

  • Previous Box Office or Call Centre Experience

  • Knowledge of Box Office systems

  • Arts experience or an understanding of the Arts

This position may suit an individual at Team Leader level who is seeking a new challenge and looking for an interesting, varied and responsible role.

Salary: Approx. €25,000
