2008 Dublin Fringe Festival - Internship Opportunity in Artistic Liaison
Tuesday 22 April 2008 | posted by Wendy Dempsey

Interested in seeing it from inside the Fringe?

With the full support of a dedicated, talented and dynamic team behind them, our interns engage professionally with some of the leading arts practitioners working in Ireland and abroad today. We value the input of our interns and as such, this is a more hands-on assignment than many others available in the arts- ideas are not only considered but actioned.
If an idea is good, it runs and we expect not only a willingness to 'work the hours', but a willingness, indeed a thirst, to become an integral part of our team.

Artistic Liaison is an important aspect of the festival that is build around having Irish and International companies presenting their work. The festival will have an Artists Hub based at the Fringe offices and an Artists Club in the evenings off-site. The daytime-hub is a place for participating artists and companies to have a chat and exchange ideas over a cup of coffee. It is a collection point for artist passes and tickets providing also an internet access point.

This internship position consists of meeting & greeting artists, management of the hub, management of artists passes and representing the festival by having the knowledge of the festival programme, venues etc.

Additionally, in the run up to the festival providing support to the Programme Manager in:
•Management of travel, accommodation and general logistic information and provision for participating artists
•Sourcing affordable and appropriate accommodation in Dublin and compiling an accommodation digs list
•Organising and managing work permits, visas and other documentation required for international artists
•Hospitality and other artistic liaison services provided by the Dublin Fringe Festival for artists
•Drawing up a Company Contacts list for issuance of artist passes

This position is ideal for a person who is dedicated, able to work on his/her own initiative, has excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.

Duration: June until September

N.B. there is no financial remuneration related to this position but lots of other perks!

Please apply with a cover letter and CV to tiina@fringefest.com.

Closing date 30th Apr '08.
