Hello. Not sure if you mean in-house box office software or ticket selling "agents" who allow for the remote purchase of tickets. On the off chance that you meant virtual or over the phone ticket sales, I would like to recommend http://www.centralticketbureau.com/ whom we used last year to sell tickets for a non-profit event in Dublin. Definitely the cheapest and most hassle free way to open up ticket sales on a national / international basis. Hope this is helpful. sharon@dgi.ie.

Hi Noel, A good site to check out is www.ticketing.org.uk , an independent website giving information and unbiased assessments of the different box office systems available. Hope that helps. Amy

Noel, Theatre Forum has been contacted by an Irish company called Ticketlord who are starting to make in-roads. Their advantage is the absence of initial start up costs, i.e free box office software. Information on their service is available at www.ticketlord.com/brouchure

The Arts Council of Northern Ireland, together with the soon to be established Audience Development Agency for Northern Ireland (to be known as Northern Ireland) are assisting many venues across the region with the roll out of computerised ticketing systems.

It is envisaged that over thirty five organisations will opt for computerised ticketing systems with the Ulster Orchestra plus Belfast Festival at Queens having just installed the tickets.com ProVenueMax ticketing systems, the Lyric Theatre Belfast about to install Artifax SRO, the Grand Opera House Belfast choosing Enta and many others such as the Playhouse in Derry opting for tickets.com Databox or, for others, the web based solution from ts.com called ticketing solutions.

One unique aspect of this project is that the systems will then be linked to a central web site (artslisting.com) to enable easy look-up and purchase by residents and tourists. The regions network of Tourist Information Centre?s will have access to artslistings.com and will be able to accept payment in person and print off the tickets straight away whilst tender responses are currently being sought for a Data Polling service to extract de-personalised data from each system to deliver extensive market intelligence.
